Faith in Research 2014: The role of the Church in Society

Our annual conference giving you the opportunity to hear and discuss current research.

  • Wednesday 4th June 2014
  • 9:30 - 16:30
  • Novotel, 70 Broad Street, Birmingham, B1 2HT
  • Chaired by the Bishop of Manchester

This exciting conference will provide you with insights from keynote speakers Dr Chris Baker (Spiritual capital - the role of the church in a post secular city), Dr Tim Ling & Dr Mike Clinton (Leadership and Growth: new insights from the 2013 Experiences of Ministry Survey) and Tom Sefton & Bethany Eckley (Credit where credit's due: the Church of England's credit union initiative).

You will also be able to select two of four breakout sessions which will tackle: Equipping people for mission, The Church serving society, Growing the Church, and The Church reaching society.

You will gain from the conference:

  • Research into challenges facing the Church, and the pivotal role played by the Church, in society.
  • An overview of the work being undertaken centrally at the National Church Institutions to understand and address these issues.
  • The chance to discuss and debate the findings: their relevance to your situation and the practicality of solutions.
